Good things come in really awesome packages or gift bags or emails...

Sorry for the late post everyone! This weekend was full of amazing happenings!

First off, the greatest thing ever happened to me. I have wanted to be in Chicago for such a significant part of my life and it has finally come true. I got accepted into the college I applied to and I am SOOO thrilled!

I'm ready to start my life just the way I like it.

Let me be the million and third person to tell you dreams come true. They REALLY come true! And they don't come true by doing nothing. Dreams come with hard, sincere work and passion for what you are dreaming of. My chances of getting into this school seemed minuscule because of how I poorly I performed in my first year of college. I realize the hard work really does pay off. I haven't seen my hard work pay off in a very, very long time, and I now understand the the Universe does work in my favor.

But not just my favor, the Universe can work in your favor too. Just show it what you want, show the Universe with your hard work and positive thoughts and energy that you want it. And you will get whatever your heart desires.

The Impossible Dream by the incredible Sinatra

Except a few things, like you can't turn into a giraffe, or a gift box.

Or a giraffe in a gift box.

Please believe in yourselves, even if no one does. I understand that there are dreams and goals that people never want to share with others. Maybe it's because you're embarrassed to have such a dream which you shouldn't be! tsk tsk) or maybe you think it's too ridiculous for yourself to achieve (which it isn't!), or you just don't want anyone to jinx it (I personally believe that, so if you believe that, that's okay, but tell someone who is a sincere well-wisher).

Sometimes, there are setbacks. Boy, do I know about setbacks. So many sets of backs. Wait, what?

When there is a setback you absolutely HAVE to remember that it is not the end of the world, or the end of anything.

Sorry, not sorry.

Keep going. Seriously, don't let it get you down, it's going to be okay. You're going to get to where you want to be. I am proof of this! I'm going to my dream city, and to a great college! I'm so happy! Yaaa!!! So much hoopla!! I don't know how to use this word at the current moment...

Good luck to everyone with all your endeavors! I promise to be more timely with these posts. I hope it's not causing anyone to hate me for it.

Remember, if you can believe it, you can achieve it.

The answer to last weeks question:
My hidden talent is my ability to play Monopoly with my toes. Gross, I know. I can roll dice, pick up and move tokens, place houses in straight lines. The only thing I can't do is pick up money and chance cards.

It was sad to see only one response to this question. I'm hoping it's because no one could think of one, not because they don't like my blog anymore. Anyway, let bygones be bygones.

This week's question is:

What is your dream? or What is the craziest dream that came true?

Good luck! Again sorry for the late post, I'm gonna get better. :)
Be nice to one another & keep dreaming! Much love.

But, whyyy?

Hello my sweet fellow human beings.

Let me begin by apologizing for the pointless post last week. When I said my mind was outside, it really was.
On a side note, I apologize for this post because it was complete and posted earlier in the day and for some reason it disappeared. I am sorry for the inconsistencies with what you read before. I'm not very happy that this happened.

I turn into this adorable puppy when I apologize.

This week I want to talk about some difficult topics. All of them surrounding the question: Why?
A lot of terrible things happen around us, to us, and to people we care about. And we are taught by example to worry and stress over these situations. The only thing worry and stress has ever brought us is thought paralysis. What happens when a loved one dies, or when you lose your job, or when you don't get what you want? We stress and worry and cry all with the one thought: What will happen to me?
Deny it all you like. A large part of your thought is revolving around yourself. We all do it. You do it, I do it, your parents do it, your friends do it, people you have never met do it. We always think about ourselves. I do not mean that people don't ever think about others or help others. Because I know all of you care and help others and I thank you for that. Life is hard, it's true. It can be difficult and frustrating,  but in times of unhappiness, trust me, happiness is to come.

Chuckie, you're like 2 or something.

Moving to the main question in this post. Why? We all ask it. I ask it constantly due to my excessive levels of curiosity.

Why did that man kidnap those girls?
Why did that woman kill her boyfriend?
Why did those men rape that little girl?
Why did those people bomb an area full of innocent people?

We can talk for hours about why these people (who in my mind don't deserve to fall under the category of people rather less than the scum of the Earth) did what they did. But remember that what these people do to other people is something no one can ever rationalize. I know it's difficult to accept because as humans we just want to know what would move someone to do such a horrendous act toward a fellow human.  And be proud that you think that because that means that you would never do such a thing. However, there are acts on a much smaller scale that we commit. Like lying, judging an individual negatively,  hurting someone's feelings. A few years ago I went through a difficult situation, and it filled me with hate and anger. It got so bad that I would lash out at people who weren't even involved. There are times when it still happens but I have a better handle on it than before.

When things get rough, talk to someone about it. I made a huge mistake by not telling anyone any of my problems until years later. And someday I will get the help that I need, but today is not that day. Find ways to vent. I personally vent by talking to a close friend, working out, occupying my day completely and by crying. I cry, like a lot. So many things make me cry and I'm not ashamed of it. I don't mind being considered sensitive because it helps me relieve myself of overwhelming emotions.

They made Pearl after me, because I am notorious for flooding buildings with my tears.

Just remember that everything will be okay. You are loved. You have people who care, love and wish to help you at all times. And if someday someone doesn't want to listen, maybe they have something that's bothering them too, don't hold it against them. You may always talk to me if you like. Trust your loved ones. They may not completely understand your situation, but the fact that they are willing to listen makes them awesome. Give them the benefit of the doubt and talk to them. Good and bad things will continue to happen, you have to remember that life goes on, and so should you.

Enough seriousness.

In reference to last week's question, my best / favorite feature of myself is my smile, because I like making other people smile. Smiling is contagious, do it more often. :) Plus, my smile seems bigger than my head.

See?

My favorite personality characteristic is my ability to feel for others. I like making people happy and I like being able to help someone however I can. Making someone's day or even 5 minutes of their day is the best feeling.

Question of the week:

What hidden talent do you possess? It doesn't have to be extraordinary, it just has to be some quirky ability you have that most people don't know about.

Have a great week! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and expecting mothers out there!

Be nice to one another. Much love.

Spring is in the air!

Happy spring, my sweet readers!

Now that the beautiful and much awaited sun is out in all its glory, it's time to spend more time outside than in.
I hope everyone's finals went well and was better than this:

Now that finals are over and there is no more snow, we can do so many activities!

This past weekend, I went to Holland, Michigan to attend the tulip festival and it was AMAZING! It was so beautiful and it made me so happy to see how many people can come together over nature's magnificence.

I got to see tulips,

Look at those late bloomers in the middle. Just kidding. I feel your pain.

and people in Dutch attire dancing and I got to visit the art fair where I got this awesome necklace!

I really enjoy going on historical tours where I get to learn about the land, it's one of my favorite things to do. If you must know, I despise history taught in classrooms. Only because it's not interesting unless you can relate what you see in real life to it, like old houses, etc. I also really like museums, alas no one wishes to go with me.

It's okay, I understand. Not really.
There are things you have to do during this wonderful season. Like be happy and play outside, even if you're an adult. When was the last time you played outside?

I have a favor to ask of all of you, go outside, at least read or do some of your work outside, it's so nice and it's not going to stay forever. AND, the sun is good for you. Vitamin D. WebMD that sh*t. You know what, don't. WebMD will probably tell you that you have jaundice and will die of sepsis in 24 hours or that you're pregnant. Stupid WebMD... turning us into hypochondriacs.

This post is random I know, I just really want to be outside! I'm going to post more picture on Facebook of my weekend, so come see them!

Just remember, when you're sad think about how happy all the little critters outside are, and how happy the flowers are. Everything is buzzing and chirping and rustling and growing and being its beautiful self, so go join it because you are beautiful too.

Things to do on this

day:

1. Go outside.
2. Soak in the sun & get some of that vitamin D.
3. Smell the roses, literally, smell the flowers. They smell so niiicceee. The roses haven't bloomed in this region yet, I know. But I shall wait patiently in the shadows until they do...
4. Do jumping jacks.
5. Go for a run, rollerblade/skate, skateboard, skip, gallop. Do your thing.
6. Lay in the grass.
7. Have a picnic! Yurrmmy.
8. Read a book (outside).
9. Do your homework (outside).
10. Say hi to the neighbors you don't know.
11. Open a lemonade stand and send all profits to a charity.
12. Do something that makes you happy.

I hope everyone had / has a wonderful weekend and upcoming week!

In reference to the question I posted two weeks ago:

My favorite love song of all time is

Isn't it a great song? Gotta love the King.

What is your best / favorite feature of yourself?

It can be a physical feature or a characteristic of your personality. Actually, answer both. Comment below! I would love to see your answers!

What is LOVE?

Hopefully you have Haddaway's What is Love stuck in your head, because it's a great song. If not, listen to the song while you read this post!

This post is dedicated to everyone. Especially those who are suffering with personal tragedies. Including the people who feel the need to express hatred, violence, and terror. Even they need love.

Love is one of the most incredible gifts the world has been provided with. No one gives love enough credit. There are so many people who say, "Love sucks." Seriously, people?!? What in the world is wrong with you? Love does not suck, if you think love sucks, you need a change in your perspective or you have no idea what love is, like at all. And for all of you who claim that other people don't know what love is, shut up, like right now. Don't you dare ever tell anyone that they don't know what love is. Sure I just said that, but I meant it in a sense that they themselves have never experienced happiness in any form.

Love doesn't mean glittery feelings towards one person who you plan to spend the rest of your life with, sure that is one form, but there are endless forms. Love comes in forms of gratitude, honesty, self respect, beauty, respect towards others, happiness, patience, kindness etc. All these things express love. Being grateful is such an important part of love. If you can be grateful and thankful for things, then you know how to love. Love doesn't mean loving someone or something, you can just love and you don't have to tell everyone you meet that you love them. People might look at you funny.

Kitty love!

Being satisfied with your life at this very moment is love. To those who believe that "love sucks," I have news for you. Just because someone broke up with you, or rejected you, or you feel like you are providing more to a relationship than your other half does NOT mean that love sucks. I am truly sorry that you feel frustrated, but, please don't blame it on love. Love is not to be blamed, love is pure and beautiful and it always will be. It is not love that "sucks," rather, you and your significant other that needs to communicate. Communication is key, and I know you've probably heard this a bajillion times, but it REALLY is. It feels so relieving to be able to open up to a loved one. And that is honesty too. Being honest doesn't mean not lying or hiding the truth, it means following what you believe, if you don't, then you are lying to yourself. And that is a huge crime. You may not be charged for it, but it feels horrible. Lying to yourself is not love.

Loving yourself does NOT mean admiring your beauty, and thinking about how perfect you are. Loving yourself means to be honest to yourself, be happy with what you have and who you are. If you aren't completely happy with what you have and who you are, again, change that perspective. If you still aren't happy, work on it, work on yourself, do things that improve who you are. And to do that, start giving. Give to your community, help a friend, help a stranger, give to Purple Heart or something. PAUSE. When I said help a stranger, don't go picking up hitchhikers, I am not responsible for your crazy decisions. I do not want you to die, and I do not want you to put yourself in danger. I am not taking responsibility for this. If you want to know what not to do, comment below or tweet at me @squeakyNim. I love you all, whether I know you or not and I don't want you dying on me. I'd be really sad.

I wanted to address this because I know everyone had a tough week trying to swallow the terrible news in Boston. Unfortunately, all those boys needed was some love in themselves, for themselves, and for their fellow neighbors. They needed to understand that love is SO much better than violence and hate. Love feels so good, it feels like glitter and cupcakes and rainbows and unicorns and sugar and awesomeness. Hate feels crappy, it really does. Hating someone feels so bad, it makes you want to cry and hit yourself or it makes you want to lash out at the world. The world is filled with love we just have to mine it. To be loved is great but to love is even better. Love and be loved. Share your love and you can make the world better that way.

Don't do this to people you love please.
angrylittlegirls.com

Love the world, love everything, love yourself, love others, most importantly just love. Revel in that love. You'll understand how perfect everything is.

In reference to last weeks question: My favorite joke is

Makes me laugh every time.

Question of the week:

What is your favorite love song?

Answer below with a link or the name of the song with the artist. I would love to read your comments.

Keep loving!!! Much love.

Pretty sure rain is wet

For all those who live in the Midwestern Region of the great U.S. of A like I do, you may have spent your day indoors. Because this fine day wasn't so fine on outside of the brick boxes we like to call home. For those who are unaware of the forecast in this area, I have provided it for you.

It was grey and raining and snowing and cold all at the same time. Gloomy as gloomy can be.
As much as we wish it was bright as an average spring day should be, just remember that we need this sad weather to make the rest of our spring and summer b-e-a-uuutiful!

Need something to do on your rainy days? Or even on those days you feel like Squidward? Then boy, do I have news for you!

1. Take a longggg bath with bubbles! Boys, there is no shame in this, baths are awesome and they make you smell and feel squeaky clean!

2. Eat a handful of your favorite Girl Scout cookies! My favorites are Samoas & Thin Mints!

3. Make yourself a nice, hot cup of tea. - I do this everyday just because tea is fantastic.

4. Bake something! -Baking is so great and I personally feel so accomplished after I've made something, plus I love sharing food, it's so much fun to see other people enjoy what you've made.
For those who say they can't bake, I don't believe you. But here is a link for a delicious banana mug cake  I made it this morning, it turned out great. Unfortunately, I didn't wait for it to cool like it said in the instructions and I burnt my tongue. Don't do that.

5. Watch a funny movie! I recently watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. It's hilarious and weird and different.

6. Paint yo nails, sista! I painted mine this beautiful "Tout Sorbet" color by Sally Hansen. It's bright and so pretty and it  totally made my day. Guys, there is no shame in this either, do what makes you happy.

7. Talk to a friend you haven't seen or talked to in a long time. No harm in approaching them first, plus we have all the technology necessary to make this possible right under our noses.

8. Watch this adorable video, guys and girls alike will find this entertaining and sweet: Partly Cloudy  Thank youuu Pixar.

9. Or watch this one: 4 year old vs. the Curb Watching this little kid persevere through what most call a disability is a beautiful thing. Plus I'm obsessed with the way he keeps saying, "I can do it."

10. Use your IMAGINATION, my sweet children. This is one of the greatest gifts that we were given. Daydream, make up things (but don't lie), draw a picture, write a song, invent something. I know you all have the ability to do this. If you can't figure out what to do, go talk to a little kid. Please don't talk to children you don't know, you'll scare them and you don't want their parents filing a harassment suit against you. Seriously though, talking to children is awesome, they have the coolest insights and they know exactly what to do with this beautiful thing called the imagination.

In reference to last week's question: My favorite word is ABOMINATION!
Not because of the meaning, but because it's so much fun to say.

Question of the week:

What is your favorite joke?

Answer below! I love jokes, all kinds of jokes, cheesy ones especially.

Much love, my sweet people.

What would life be like if we wore pants on our arms?

The title is random you say? Quite so. This question was actually posed by my younger brother who came up to me with a pair of pants on his arms. To his question I had no response as he ran away soon after.

Something important that everyone should know no matter how old they are or what stage of life they are in:
ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS.

Don't be shy to ask questions, ever. People don't like to ask questions out of fear that people around them will think they are "stupid" or "inattentive." So what? That may not even be the case. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but we are not cats. Sorry if that's what you wanted to be when you grew up.

Before 10th grade, I never asked questions because no one around me asked questions, which in turn made me think that everyone understood everything except me. But that was not true at all, everyone just believed that asking questions meant annoying your peers, looking dumb, seeking attention, etc. Don't worry about what other people think about you. Especially if you know that what you are doing is right. I'm not saying that you can go to work covered in pizza sauce and expect everyone around you to understand that. For that matter don't go anywhere covered in pizza sauce, pizza parties included.

On the plus side, by asking that question, you helped other people around you who had that same question, or if it is regarding a set of instructions, you'll be able to complete your task effectively.

I'm an extremely curious person, I have so many questions about everything and sometimes people laugh at some of my questions because they find them amusing. I'm not offended by it because by nature I'm a silly person.

Please enjoy this picture of this cute silly billy.

Seriously though, whenever you have a question no matter how ridiculous you think your question is remember these things:

1. Finding out the answer is way more satisfying than not knowing.
2. Someone out there is asking a more ridiculous question than you.
3. That someone is probably me.

4. If you really don't want to ask someone that question but you still want (need) to know the answer, ask me!

I'll be more than happy to answer it for you. Sorry if I can't answer it to your liking, but I will sure try. Better yet, try Googling it! Google is seriously one of my best friends. If I could I would totally put Google on my speed dial.

I hope this post convinces at least one of you, because asking questions is fun and it's great!
In honor of this post, here is a question for ya'll:

What is your favorite word?

You don't have to give me your answers but feel free to do so, I would love to read your answers!
There will be a new question ever week. Feel free to post anonymously if you like!

I'll have new posts every weekend. Much love.
